Liam Fray of The Courteeners Unveils Exclusive Christmas Acoustic Show in Manchester

Liam Fray, frontman of The Courteeners, is set to spread some festive cheer with a special one-off Christmas acoustic gig in Manchester.

After a successful sold-out performance at Heaton Park in June, where 50,000 fans celebrated the 15th anniversary reissue of their debut album 'St. Jude,' which also topped the charts, joining the likes of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in hitting the number one spot with a reissue, Fray is returning for an intimate acoustic gig at Manchester's Albert Hall on December 17.

Ticket sales are set to kick off on October 27 at 9 am and can be purchased from Ticketmaster.

During his appearance at Glastonbury 2023, Fray shared exciting updates about two forthcoming albums from The Courteeners. He revealed some intriguing song titles, such as 'Solitude Of The Night Bus' and 'When Are You In New York Next?'. Additionally, he likened one of the tracks to "Mac Miller covering Leonard Cohen."

According to Fray, the new music is going to make a significant impact. He emphasized the importance of great songs, saying, "The song is king, and the song will always win." He also mentioned that someone he trusts praised these new songs, calling them the best he's written since the 2008 debut album 'St. Jude.'

Fray's plans include creating two albums, one with a fun vibe and the other featuring a moodier tone with piano and drum machines, with no expectations of producing chart-topping hits. He is eager to explore the beauty of sleeper tracks that might be underappreciated.

This Glastonbury experience has left him feeling both humbled and inspired, motivating him to infuse this perspective into the rest of his life.
